We understand how to support families and individuals with their private international assets, business and activities, and where the role of a notary fits in.
Company Notary Limited was formed in 2010, building on dawn stallwood’s busy corporate commercial notary practice (which goes back to 1999). Her experience is with serving business owners and executives, and their families. Borne out of her own personal in-house experience of needing notarial services for her directors and stakeholders at the time our concierge and managed service approach to notarisation, FCDO and legalisation is intentional. We are relationship driven, with clients who have been with us for 20+ years, as well as warmly welcoming new clients. All are treated with the same responsiveness, professionalism and care.
Family Office Notary was developed as a division of Company Notary Limited in response to an increasing need from our clients needing an agile, responsive and hyper-personalised mobile notary service to support their private needs.
We are based in Surrey and SW London, (see Where we Serve) with notary team commercial and private client experience spanning more than 60 years. Supported by client concierge, FCDO, embassy and legalisation and document co-ordination practitioners, we deliver a convenient, discreet, personable and expert service.

Our service is fully mobile – we will take the hassle out of your notary experience.We see our clients and signatories wherever convenient – home, office, in transit, airport, coffee shop.
Our work takes us across Surrey and into London, and we can support clients in West Kent Borders, North Hampshire and West Sussex as well. See Where we Serve.
We can see clients beyond these locations, where needed. If in doubt, ask us!
We work with the individual client or their PA/EA, private office, house teams, and professional advisors, to make the notary experience as hassle-free as possible, taking the least time away from the busy signatory. We can also see clients virtually if guidance and requirements permit.
AGILE AND RESPONSIVE
We know how busy our clients are. We have been in their shoes! Our ability to be agile and responsive is driven by our commitment to our client relationships. So, we can see signatories and clients at their home, before or after business hours, working around children’s schedules, on Saturday morning , as well as during the working day We pride ourselves on being pragmatic and problem-solving; it is rare for us not to be able to overcome a logistical issue.
We provide access to free preliminary advice, including a proprietary on-line resource to check the notary and legalization requirements (and receive your own tailored checklist by email).

We care! We believe in collaboration and consider ourselves to be your personal long-term notary. Dawn stallwood is a relationship management facilitator (and iso 44001 specialist) and has spent 28 years supporting business owners, founders and executives, and their families. For her, business is personal. This is the ethos of Family Office Notary as well. We are focused on delivering a notary service which meets our clients’ needs. We invest time and energy into our client relationships. Helping our clients achieve their private planning is a shared objective for all of us ry. We are independent and not a solicitors firm. we believe in transparency and strong communication. Pricing, process and steps are made very clear.
EXPERT AND RELATIONAL
Our notaries and support personnel are commercial and private client specialists, each having commercial and operational backgrounds. We draw on our practitioner experience to support the notary work we do. We are familiar with international transactions and asset management for business and private individuals
We have team members with property, founder and family business, commercial and in-house lawyer backgrounds, and experience supporting families, high profile individuals, family and investment offices. Our notaries are regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury of the Church of England, and have Notaries Society (www.thenotariessociety.org.uk) membership. We hold professional indemnity and fidelity Insurance. Our team undertake continuing professional development training each year.

We are a fully managed service.
Our client concierge approach ensure, FCDO Apostille and Embassy legalisation and document forwarding are handled in-house with experienced resources. We do this to ensure the client can relax and not waste their time. It is a partnership. Our clients often have hard deadlines or short windows to obtain signatures which we factor in. We prefer to be end to end where possible. We use trusted consular agents forelements of legalisation under our co-ordination and liaison.
What we can do for you
We bring an external notary and legalisation fully managed service for documents. You will have access to our expert notaries, when you need them. Engage us early and we will help you manage your international documents. We generally do not charge for email advice or phone-calls!
Our mobile and agile notary service will reduce your pressure for international documents and transactions.

25 YEAR NOTARY MILESTONE IN 2025
Having found it hard to get a mobile notary to see her board directors whilst in her first in-house job in aviation in the 90’s, Dawn Stallwood, decided if ‘you can’t beat them, join them!’ Dawn qualified as a notary on her 25th birthday in 1999 and started her notarial practice in 2000; So, 2025 marks a 25-year milestone for Dawn, and a 35 year milestone for consultant notary Iain MacLeod. Back in 1999 Dawn was one of the youngest (and female) notaries in the country, but where did the time go? During 2025, Dawn will share her insights into professional practice, including publishing two books ‘Beautiful Leadership: A personal framework for authentic, sustaining impact’ and ‘Impact Profesisonal: What it takes’’
